Sit Happens Cancellation
& Rescheduling Policy
Because life happens… but so do schedules, Sit Legends, and carefully planned nights out.
At Sit Happens, we keep things fair for families and our Sit Legends. When you book a session, your sitter reserves that time just for you — turning down other work and planning around your booking. Our policy protects their time, your flexibility, and keeps everything running smoother than a fresh jar of Sudocrem.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations 48+ hours before your session — “All good, legend.”
Cancel anytime 48 hours or more before your session and you’ll receive:
Full refund of your deposit, or
Option to transfer your deposit to a future booking
No fees, no awkwardness, no stress.
Cancellations between 24–48 hours — “We can work with this.”
If you cancel between 24–48 hours before your session:
Your deposit is non-refundable, and
No additional fees apply
This helps cover the scheduling block your Sit Legend has held just for your family.
Cancellations less than 24 hours — “Eek… we get it, but this one stings.”
If you cancel within 24 hours of your booking:
Your deposit is forfeited, and
A cancellation fee of 50% of the booked hours will be charged
Why? Because by this stage, your Sit Legend has likely turned down other opportunities and prepared for your session.
No-shows or cancellations after the start time — “The full shebang.”
If the sitter arrives and you cancel on the spot or do not attend:
The full booking rate for the scheduled hours is charged
Rescheduling Policy
We know plans change, kids get sick, and life throws curveballs the size of basketballs. We’re flexible… with boundaries.
Rescheduling 48+ hours before your booking — “Easy peasy.”
You can freely reschedule your session anytime 48 hours or more before your start time. Your deposit simply moves to your new date.
Rescheduling 24–48 hours before — “We’ll do our best.”
You may reschedule between 24–48 hours if:
Your preferred Sit Legend is still available at the new time, and
The system allows for an adjustment
If we can’t secure a time or sitter, it counts as a cancellation under the 24–48 hour rules.
Rescheduling within 24 hours — “This counts as a cancellation.”
Rescheduling less than 24 hours before the booking is considered a cancellation, as your Sit Legend has already locked in the time.

Deposits secure your Sit Legend and are applied to your final invoice unless forfeited via the policy above.
Sickness clause: We know little humans get sick. We follow the policy above, as Sit Legends are also vulnerable to illness and need reliable schedules. View our Sickness Policy for futher information.
